Denver NWSL, the league's latest expansion team, is building a purpose-built stadium and recreational district for professional women's soccer.
According to a release on the Denver NWSL website, the 14,500 seat stadium will be built at Santa Fe Yards in the heart of Denver, Colorado, near Broadway and I-25. It is expected to open in the spring of 2028. The redevelopment will also feature a 3.5-acre recreational park and future mixed-use development.
"This will be the largest overall investment in a women's professional sports team in history. We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to leverage this massive private investment to revitalize and transform Santa Fe Yards into a new hub of thriving community activity, a place for outdoor recreation, restaurants, retail, and for building connections with our community," Denver NWSL's controlling owner, Rob Cohen, said.
The stadium will have the ability to expand in the future to host larger crowds and other marquee events.
Since Denver NWSL starts play in 2026 and this stadium won't be ready until 2028, the team will announce plans for a temporary stadium at a later date.
