Notable Retirements Since the 2023 NWSL Season

She played with Seattle Reign FC (then known as Ol' Reign) for 11 seasons (2012-2023). Rapinoe retired at the end of the 2023 NWSL season.
She began her career with Washington Spirit (2013-2016). She then played with Orlando Pride from 2017-2021. Krieger finished her career off with NJ/NY Gotham FC from December 2021 until the end of the 2023 season when the team won the NWSL Championship.
Ertz was drafted by the Chicago Red Stars and played with the team from 2014-2021. She joined Angel City FC in 2023 and retired later that year.
Mewis played in the NWSL for seven years. She started her NWSL career on Western New York Flash roster where she won a championship in 2016. She later joined the North Carolina Courage roster when she won the NWSL Championship in 2018 and 2019. She retired in January 2024.
She started her career playing for Sky Blue FC (now NJ/NY Gotham FC) for five seasons. O'Hara then joined the Utah Royals for three seasons and followed by playing with the Washington Spirit for two seasons where she won an NWSL Championship (2021). O'Hara then rejoined NJ/NY Gotham FC, won a championship in 2023 and will retire at the end of the 2024 season. "When she signed with Gotham, she made history as the first-ever NWSL free agent to sign with a club" (NWSL, 2024).
